Why BioPerine Matters
Turmeric gets most of the attention in joint supplements, but without an absorption enhancer, much of a typical dose may never actually reach your joints.
The Absorption Problem
Curcumin, turmeric's active compound, has notably low natural bioavailability — meaning the body absorbs and metabolizes it quickly, before much of it can act on inflamed tissue.
What BioPerine Does
BioPerine is a patented extract of piperine, the compound responsible for black pepper's pungency. Research has shown it can substantially increase how much curcumin the body actually absorbs and uses.
Why This Matters For CartiVex Specifically
CartiVex includes two forms of turmeric precisely because that's the formula's central ingredient category. Including BioPerine alongside them is a formulation choice aimed at making sure more of that turmeric dose is put to use, not eliminated unabsorbed.
An Honest Caveat
BioPerine's own amount isn't disclosed in the materials we reviewed either, so we can't confirm it matches the doses used in absorption studies. See our turmeric explainer for the other half of this formula.
